The Zebra announces partnership with Pawlicy Advisor

New insurtech partnership provides pet insurance offerings on TheZebra.com, signals company growth for the Austin-based unicorn.

AUSTIN, Texas - November 3, 2021 - Today, Austin-based insurtech The Zebra announced it had entered a new partnership with pet insurance comparison site Pawlicy Advisor. With this move, The Zebra will offer consumers the option to obtain pet insurance coverage through Pawlicy Advisor.

"Our partnership with Pawlicy Advisor allows us to further deliver on our goal of being the one-stop-shop for insurance shopping,” said Chief Commercial Officer Jessica Scelzi. “We know customers want to spend the least amount of time shopping for insurance, so we're excited to add pet insurance as an offering and make it even quicker for our customers to meet all of their insurance needs -- this time, for pets."

This partnership adds to the exponential growth The Zebra has seen throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, including a 90% increase in staffing since March 2020. With an April 2021 $150 million Series D fundraise and over a billion-dollar valuation, the company is on track to reach 50% revenue growth compared to the year prior.

Additionally, The Zebra is the only company in the U.S. to offer its employees an annual pet perk: a $500 stipend to adopt a pet, in addition to “paw-ternity” leave for employees to use with their new pet. The Zebra announced the perk in April 2020, with 16 employees utilizing it so far.
