Do I have to add my son with a permit to our insurance
My 21 year old son will be getting his driving permit. We live in NJ. He does not own a car but we will allow him to use our vehicles. My question is - even though he does not own a car and will be using my car and my husband's car - do we need to add him to our current auto insurance policy?
I would recommend speaking with your insurance company regarding their specific rules. But, given him using the vehicles often, I would imagine they will require him to be an added driver to the policy. Bear in mind, given his age and lack of driving experience, you might experience an increase in your premium. Feel free to shop around for cheaper rates here.
