Question
Why am I being asked for my personal information for a car insurance quote?
I am trying to find out what is the minimum premium for full coverage insurance for one car (assuming clean driving records, no accidents. etc.). At this point, I'm not asking for discounts or anything like that. All I need to know if there is a chance of obtaining a better price than I currently pay. However, I am being asked for personal information by your quote forms, and I am not comfortable providing them at this point. Of course, I am aware that they are necessary, and I will be willing to provide them if I decide to request a quote. So my question is how do I find out what the minimum (or the average) full coverage premium would be for a car and driver with clean driving records in California (San Francisco Bay Area)?
Answer
According to our data, the average cost of minimum liability car insurance in California is $573 per year. Below are some additional coverage options you can consider:
State Minimum — Liability Only | $573 |
State Minimum — $1,000 Comprehensive/Collision | $1,297 |
State Minimum — $500 Comprehensive/Collision | $1,481 |
That said, this is based on a 30-year-old male driver with no accidents or violations and good credit. No one person is the same which is why you can't just get an estimate. Check out our guide to Car Insurance in California for more relevant information.
