Can the bank force me to get coverage on my vehicle?

I had a lapse in auto ins in 4/2017 now almost a year later my bank is trying to make me pay for that 1 month can they do that? I didn’t have any accidents. I had a lapse of auto coverage for the month of April in 2017 now almost a year later the bank is trying to make me pay for coverage for that month can they actually do that? There were no accidents or tickets that month on the vehicle.

If you have a loan from that particular bank and in the loan contract it states you must have auto insurance, they can force coverage on you. Because they have an invested interest in the vehicle through the loan, they will require it to be insured. The fact that you didn’t have an accident is irrelevant.
