Question

How can I get coverage after hit and run?

If the victim of a hit and run doesn't have uninsured motorists coverage, will the damage to the car still be covered? I have full coverage but rejected the uninsured motorists coverage.

If you have collision coverage, your car will still be covered. You will be responsible for the deductible. Also, the accident may show up as an at-fault accident since your collision coverage paid for the claim. If it is listed as at-fault that can impact your rates for up to five years. Make sure to check with your insurance company. Here is more information on what to expect when filing your claim. Good luck and if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
