Question
Can I get full coverage insurance without an agent looking at my car for any damage?
I'm in North Carolina and want to purchase a vehicle with a cracked bumper. Other than the bumper, the vehicle is in good shape so I would want to fully cover it. Will that be a problem?
Answer
Yes you can purchase a policy with comprehensive and collision (full coverage) without an agent inspection. However, you will not be able to file a claim for existing damage on the vehicle since your insurance policy will only cover damage that occurs during the period when you are insuring the vehicle. Some companies may stipulate that you disclose any existing damage before a policy is issued so you will definitely want to be up front with your carrier to avoid any potential claims issues down the road. Hope this helps!
