Question

Can a homeowners claim be removed if there was no payout

I filed a claim for a leaking roof. The adjuster informed me that repair would be cheaper than the deductible if I paid out of pocket. So I did. I hired a roofer, paid for the repair but the insurance company still has this listed as a claim even though there was no payout. Can I have this claim removed since there was no payout from the insurance company?

No, because there was still a claim filed with the insurance company, they just didn’t pay out for the claim. They had to pay for the claims adjuster to evaluate the damage. Also, it shows there was damage to the house. You can always talk to your insurance company to see if there is anything they can do. Good luck and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
