Question

Can it be cheaper to have two cars on an auto policy instead of just one?

I am a co-signer for my sister's car, so my name is on the policy. I recently got a car and added the car to the same insurance and got a multi-car discount. Then I decided to switch insurance companies. I called to take my car off and they told me that her payments would now be higher even after I removed my car.

Thank you for your question. This actually happens quite often. Your multi-car discount is higher than the premium of having a second car. In cases like this, you might be better off leaving the second vehicle on the policy, even if it's just with liability
