Question
Can my son's name be on my homeowners policy if he's not on the deed of the house?
To help me out, my son is going to pay for my homeowners insurance policy. Can his name be on that policy even though he is not on the deed of the house?
Answer
Your son would not need to be listed in any way on the policy unless he is a part-owner. Any payouts from insurance would go to the lender and homeowner(s), so having him on there would not do anything for him.
