Can I still get insurance if my license is suspended?

My license expired many years ago and it ended up eventually being suspended. I just bought a new vehicle and need to get it insured but the companies that I have called so far won’t give me coverage because of my license. Are there any options for me?

While there are companies that will not insured a driver with a suspended license, there are many that will. Larger, more highly rated companies will not want to take on the risk of insuring someone with a suspended license but there are hundreds of companies that will provide coverage. In most instances, the state will mandate that you purchase insurance as a requirement to reinstate your license anyway so your best bet is to shop with as many companies as possible to find your best rate. Be up front about your license status so the agent can let you know if they can help you or not.
