Question
Can there be different deductibles for comprehensive and collision?
I have full coverage and was told I had a $250 deductible. The agent said that it was for collision coverage and then said I had zero deductible for comprehensive. But a friend asked, how can you have a deductible for one thing and not the other? Which means there would be a $250 deductible for comprehensive also. Is that common or accurate?
Answer
Some companies will allow you to have different deductible amounts for collision and comprehensive — and some people prefer to have a smaller deductible for comprehensive than collision.
