I'm buying a car privately. Do I need insurance getting it home. If so how? Will my current insurance provider give me additional coverage?

Yes, to legally drive any car, you must have insurance. Most insurance companies will give you coverage on your new vehicle for about 14 days. However, every company is different. You will want to check with your company for their specific guidelines. Also, if you currently have liability coverage only, but need comprehensive and collision coverage, you will need to add the coverage to your policy for any vehicle to be covered for physical damage.
