Question

What to do with my car insurance if I only use my caregivers?

I don't drive my car. I drive my bosses car. I am a live in caregiver. How much is insurance going to be on a car I don't drive ever? My car is a clunker that is slowly being worked on. As long as I am driving my bosses car my car won't be driven until I ever leave here and move into my own place. I can't see paying a bunch of money in insurance in a car that I never move.

I understand your concern. Unfortunately, as long as your car is registered, you need to maintain insurance on it. If you want to cancel your insurance, you would need to cancel the registration as well. Keep in mind, if you do cancel your insurance you will not have coverage in the event of an accident. Fortunately, we can quote you with several carriers at thezebra.com. You can also give us a call at  833-768-7789. We will help make sure you get the best rate available. You can get the minimum liability that Tennessee requires.  Another thing to keep in mind is if you are driving your bosses car, you need to be listed as a driver. If you are driving the car regularly and are not listed as a driver, they can deny a claim if there is an accident. Good luck and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
