Our company does work for another company, in which some of our employees may need to drive their company cars. If our employee gets into an accident while driving one of the other company’s car, whose insurance covers the damage?
That is a tricky situation. Based on what you said, it sounds like the other company would need to have a commercial policy that covers the drivers using their vehicles. Most commercial car insurance policies require specific drivers to be listed and approved by running driving records, just like a personal car insurance policy would. I’d call this other company and see what would happen in the event of an accident by one of your employees — they might already have a commercial plan in place. Don’t forget, depending on your industry, you could see some savings for a commercial policy based on your employees occupation!
