Question
Does it count against you if you don't have insurance now?
I don't have the car yet. I'm getting it Wed. Do you also offer any type of bundle discounts like for auto and renter's insurance? I would definitely be interested in that, if so. One more question... if I provide the vehicle's VIN, is it possible that I will qualify for even more discounts than are already listed???
Answer
Not having insurance continuously does impact your rate negatively. Once you have had insurance for six months the rates should get better. The longer you are insured continuously the better your rates will be. Most companies will offer a multi-policy discount if you bundle your auto and renters insurance. At this time, The Zebra only quotes auto insurance but several of the companies we work with do offer renters insurance. You can inquire about renters insurance during the finalization process. Last but not least, having your vehicle identification number (VIN), will give you a more accurate quote and is required to start an auto policy but you shouldn't see additional discounts. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
