Question

Is this covered by my homeowners or do I have to sue?

I recently bought a brand new walk-in bathtub. I hired a person who is not a business just a friend to install the walk-in tub and tile around it after he completed the job he got so much grout on the tub that it scratched it and does not look knew any longer. Am I covered by my homeowners to replace this tub even though it’s brand new but does not look at any longer.

Homeowner's insurance is to repair damage caused by an unforeseen event. In this case, it will most likely not be covered by insurance, especially because it is cosmetic damage caused by home improvements. You can always contact your agent to double check. However, any claim would increase your rates going forward so I recommend contacting the friend who installed the tile. Good luck and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
