Question

I damaged a vehicle I was test driving with no insurance

I had bumped a test drive car against a short pole when reversing in the parking lot. The salesman was in the car. Must they report the accident? I did not have auto insurance at the time of this accident. It took place at the parking lot of an auto dealership. I have never owned a vehicle so I have never had auto insurance. There were no injuries. Should the vehicle dealership file a report and also, an insurance claim for the damage? What is the protocol for such a scenario?

The dealership should have insurance to cover incidents during test drives. They would file a claim for the vehicle damage. I would contact the dealership to see if there is anything they will need from you. Each dealership is different and has different policies when it comes to these situations. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
