Are deductibles company specific?

I am changing insurance companies from The Hartford to Geico. I got into a car accident August 2017 while covered under Hartford Insurance, I have been allowed a $1,000 deductible to fix my damages for that event. I am changing my car insurance to Geico on March 2018. Will I still be able to use that deductible or is that company specific?

While they are some company-specific deductibles, the standard ones are $500 and $1000. So it’s unlikely you won’t be able to get the desired amount for your collision or comprehensive deductible.
