Should I file a claim for hitting someone else?

A driver crossed over two lanes without a signal or brake lights an attempt to exit. I end up hitting the back of her car trying to break from her reckless driving. There was no major damage to her car. She wants to make a claim on damages to another part of her car that wasn’t hit by me.

I would recommend letting your insurance company know about the incident. Provide all of the photos and details from the incident to show that the damage she is trying to claim was not caused by you. They will not pay out for damage that didn’t happen at the time of the incident.
