Is it fraud to tell the insurance company you're still married but you're not?
A guy I'm talking to still has insurance together with his ex-wife, who lives separately. I was told if caught, they will say they're still together but living in separate homes. Would this count as fraud?
Their relationship status has nothing to do with the policy as long as they are not listed as married if they are legally divorced. However, the fact they're living at separate locations is a problem. The vehicle needs to be kept at the garaging address on the policy. If one vehicle is kept at a separate location, then it needs to be on a separate policy. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
