Is my friend covered if they borrow my vehicle?

I am going on a long drive and my friend and I plan on taking turns to avoid being tired. If he were to get into an accident, would my coverages extend to him?

Generally speaking, a person who you give permission to drive your vehicle should be covered by the policy on the vehicle. It’s called “permissive use” and is normally allowed with most companies. You may want to call your specific insurer just to confirm since each company is a bit different, but it is highly likely that your friend would be covered while driving your vehicle on a road trip.
