Question
I got in an accident and my insurance company hasn’t really done anything to fix it, do I have to continue to pay?
Answer
You definitely have the freedom to shop around for a new insurance company during your policy period. As long as you had insurance at the time of the accident, you can cancel your policy at any time. Make sure to ask if there are any penalties and that you have insurance set up with another company before you switch. With that being said, your current insurance company will still be responsible for the claim so any issues you have will need to be addressed with them. I advise following up on your claim and settling this matter before switching.
