Question

What happens if I'm involved in an accident without insurance?

I was struck by a driver with no insurance, and I, myself, do not have insurance. What do I do now? What are the repercussions I face? I filed a police report online after being instructed by the dispatching officer to do so.

Unfortunately there really isn't much that you can do. Even if the other driver is found to be at fault, without them having insurance your vehicle is pretty unlikely to get fixed unless you pay for the repairs yourself. Legally, you could be faced with a ticket for driving without insurance or even a license suspension regardless of who caused the accident. If no ticket was issued at the time of the crash then you might be in the clear, but I can't say that with 100% certainty. You'll probably find out more once the police follow up on the report that you submitted. Sorry to hear about your situation, but best of luck!
