Question

If I hit a rental car, can I pay the damages out of pocket?

The other person's car I hit was a rental. Because the damage is very minimal, I would prefer to pay out-of-pocket instead of going through insurance. However, I'm unsure how to go about this since I'll be dealing with a rental company and not a car owner.

In this particular instance, it really depends on how the rental car company wants to handle the situation. I would recommend contacting the rental company to see what options you have. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. For more information on whether or not to file a claim, see here.
