Hit and run in a rental car?

Someone hit my rental car (they admitted fault) but did not want to alert their insurance company. It's a rental car and it needs to be returned. So, what's my recourse?

Refusing to exchange insurance isn't really an option in the event of an accident as it's required by law. I would alert your insurance company and give them all the information available. In terms of the actual rental car, I would double-check with your rental policy documents to see what their procedure is. If you didn't get the rental insurance, you might be able to use your own insurance until the guilty party can be accounted for. Again, you would need to look into your policy documentation to be sure. Here are some additional resources you can use: How to file a claim.
