I have uninsured motorist coverage on my policy but I do not have collision. My car was considered a total loss after the accident. How can I get compensated for my car?
Uninsured Motorist coverage in Florida only applies to bodily injury that you and your passengers may suffer after being hit by an uninsured driver. Since that coverage only applies to injuries then your policy would have to include collision coverage to receive any payout for damage caused to your car by an uninsured driver. Your best bet would be to contact your insurance provider for advise and/or contact an attorney.
