I was injured in a car accident two months ago, can I still file a claim?

I was rear ended and didn’t go to the hospital. That was two months ago. Now I can barely walk. Can I file a bodily injury claim even though my car’s claim has been settled?

The statute of limitations for filing a bodily injury claim in North Carolina is 3 years. So you are still within your legal time frame to file a claim even though your car’s claim was completed. I would recommend contacting the claims adjuster who handled your car’s physical damage and let them know you are experiencing residual pain from the accident. They will most likely require that you see a doctor to get proof the injuries you are experiencing were caused by the accident. Best of luck.
