Question
Insurance company found out about accident I didn't report
Involved in a minor accident, did not file a claim with insurance. 4 months later insurance wants details of the accident. Why and how?
Answer
They're most likely asking about the details of the accident because most insurance policies stipulate you most report any accidents, even if a claim isn't filed. How they found out about the accident is uncertain. If you exchanged information with the other driver or a police report was filed, your insurance company might of been contacted. Your best option is simply to give your insurance company any and all information regarding the accident. Best of luck.
