Question

Why is my insurance so high if I have no accidents?

Car insurance quotes are really high. I have had a license for 6+ years, with a clean record and just bought/paid for a new car. I did not have my own car or insurance previously as I was in school or in a big city with public transportation. Parents had added me as a secondary driver when I was home for long stretches of time but not currently.

There are many different factors that go into calculating your rate. Although I do not know your age, you sound like a young driver. Drivers under 25-years-old pay more than any other age group for car insurance because of the risk car insurance companies see in them. Not having continuous insurance for any reason will impact your rates until you have your own policy for at least six months. In addition to the lapse of insurance, Massachusetts is known to have higher insurance rates than many other states.  At The Zebra, we can quote you with several companies at once. You can also give us a call at 833-768-7789. Good luck and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.
