On 11/06/2017: I receive a notice of Non-Renewal from Progressive Ins. Notice states that the policy will expire on 12:01 a.m. 12:05/2017. I purchase a new policy from Liberty Ins. to take effect on 12/05/2017. That same day, Progressive Auto-deducts monthly premium from my bank. Same day it supposedly is to cancel.
I phoned Progressive today to inquire about a refund for the amount of the auto-deduction, since they cancelled the policy, why would I pay for a month that I will be not insured by them?
Progressive Rep says the auto deduction was taken on 12/01/2017.
I tell him no, it was 12/05/17.
He puts me on hold for a while. Then tells me he cannot refund me my December premium because “technically it was for the month prior”.
i.e. November 2017.
Is this legal?
