Question

How do I know what coverage I have on my policy?

I recently purchased a full coverage policy for a vehicle that I am financing, but I don't know the specifics of my policy. How can I figure that out?

It's important to note that there is no such thing as "full coverage" when it comes to auto insurance. People who use that term are normally referring to a policy that includes comprehensive and collision coverage, but being specific can help you avoid confusion. If you have your policy paperwork, you can look at your declarations page to see that coverage included on your policy. Most insurance companies also offer online access to your policy documents so you might try looking there as well. If you can't find it at all or would prefer a breakdown over the phone, you should contact your insurance provider and they should be able to explain each coverage included and not included on your policy.
