Question

How do I know if hail damage is covered by my policy?

A storm blew through our area and my car was hit by hail. The windshield was broken and the car has dents all over. I'm worried that my insurance company isn't going to cover the damage. Is there a way to know before I call them?

Comprehensive coverage is intended to cover against weather events, fire, and vandalism that damage your vehicle. If your policy includes comprehensive coverage then your insurance company should fix your vehicle after the deductible is paid. If you have access to your policy online, you should be able to check the declarations fairly easily. Or you can always contact your insurance provider to ask whether your policy includes comprehensive coverage.
