I bought car insurance from a pushy salesman that was well above the required amount in Texas. I own a 2003 Honda Civic Coupe and really only drive back and forth to work. The policy is for $500,000 in liability and $250 deductibles. Am I over insured?

It's never a bad idea to carry as much liability coverage as you can afford to protect yourself against lawsuits. That does not necessarily mean that you need a $500,000 liability limit, but you very well might. Consider your assets when determining the amount of liability coverage that is right for you. You might even consider an opinion from another agent.
Your insurance company can tell you how much you are paying additionally for comprehensive and collision. Comparing the cost to the value of your vehicle should help you decide if the extra coverage is needed. Ultimately the coverage you carry is up to you, but if you feel you are being swindled, you should consider another company.
