Question

Do I need to contact my insurance company to fix a car that I hit or should the other driver start the process?

I was going through an intersection and hit a car in the back. They had their blinker on to turn right but ended up turning left and that caused me to hit them. I figured that I was at fault so I gave my insurance info, but I'm not sure if I should contact my company or if the other driver should call them.

It's recommended that you notify your insurance company if you're involved in an accident even if you believe you are fully at fault. There could be a situation where the driver you hit also shares fault in the accident so your insurance company might want to negotiate a payout with the insurer of the other driver. While the other driver likely will contact your insurance company, I would recommend contacting your insurer as well to give your side of the story.
