Need insurance for a rental car. The rental car companies insurance policies I cannot afford
There are a couple of things you can do. You can get a non owners plan that will give you liability and make your legal to drive. The problem with this is that it offers no damage protection for the vehicle you rent – meaning your collision and comprehensive coverage. Your next option is to see if your credit card provides you any coverage. Some credit card perks extend coverage to your rental vehicles – but there are also of specific details for this so I would check with your credit car provider. In most cases, unless you have your own car insurance company (which can extend to rental cars) or credit card that covers a rental car for damages you have to pay for their rental insurance when renting a vehicle.
