Does Oregon offer insurance on rental cars?
Need insurance for a rental car. The rental car companies insurance policies I cannot afford
There are a couple of things you can do. You can get a non-owners plan that will give you liability coverage and make it legal for you to drive. The problem with this is that it offers no damage protection for the vehicle you rent - meaning no collision and comprehensive coverage. Your next option is to see if your credit card provides you any coverage. Some credit card perks extend coverage to your rental vehicles - I would check with your credit card provider for details. In most cases, unless you have your own car insurance (which can extend to rental cars) or credit card that covers a rental car for damages you have to pay for their rental insurance when renting a vehicle.
