Question

If I was rear-ended by another driver, do I have to contact my insurance company if the other driver is covering my damage?

I was hit by another driver and he was considered to be at fault. His insurance company is taking care of repairing my vehicle and my injuries. But do I also need to contact my insurance company?

If the other driver is considered to be at-fault then you would need to contact his insurance company. Oregon is a "Fault" state meaning that the driver who is considered to be at-fault in the accident is responsible for injuries and/or damage they cause to a third party. You should read your policy contract to find out if your company requires that you disclose any damage occurring to your vehicle regardless of fault. If it is not written into your contract then you don't have to contact your company.
