Question

I got a reckless driving charge in Indiana. Now I have a California driver's license. Do I have to report the reckless driving charge to California car insurance?

Do the points on your license stay even when you change the license to a different state? Can car insurance companies look up the exact reason for your reckless driving charge?

It depends on theexact rules for California and laws do vary state to state, but for the most part if your license is valid and you transfer to a new state insurance companies won't see prior activity. They will run an MVR for CA and only show info that is on that license. Hang onto your old license info though, because many companies will need it for the first three years you have the CA license to help your rating.
