Question
Someone attempted to steal my neighbor's vehicle and wrecked my van, how do I handle insurance?
I don't believe neighbor has insurance, he has no plates on the vehicle. They broke the door lock and column.
Answer
You would not be at fault in this case. In cases like this, it's best to get all the documentation you can, like a police report.
If you have comprehensive and collision, you should be able to get your car fixed. If you have Uninsured Motorist coverage, it would also apply in this situation since it's essentially a hit-and-run.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
