If my son is without insurance and hit by another driver, will their insurance cover his damage?

My son was hit by another driver shortly after he let his insurance lapse. He is still financing his vehicle and I co-signed the loan for him so I'm worried that the vehicle will not be repaired even though he still owes money to the bank. The other driver was completely at fault. Will that driver's insurance cover the damage to my son's car?

If the other driver is 100% at fault then your son's insurance status shouldn't impact the results of the claim. Ultimately the other driver's insurance company will determine fault based on the details that are provided to them so his best bet would be to contact that company as soon as possible to begin the process.
