Can I file an additional loss of use claim even after the at fault party's insurance has paid for the repairs of the vehicle?

From my understanding, if the initial check did not cover your travel expenses but was for the repairs then you are still owed for that and should reopen the claim with that company. They, of course, would need the info and receipts to show what expenses you had.

I'm on a shared policy, is it possible that the claims made somehow only show up to my name?

Claims departments should be marking the correct driver for a claim but other drivers pop up on reports from time to time. This comes from the way the insurance company generating the quote is reading reports.

Was I right to file a claim with my insurance when I was not at fault? Will my premiums go up?

Sorry to hear about the accident. I do think you made the right decision in filing a claim for your damages.

Can an insurance company only cover the vehicle but not the driver?

An insurance company can deny a claim if the guilty party was not in compliance with the rules set by their insurance plan. This does not, however, mean the guilty party is off the hook.

Can I wait to file an auto insurance claim if it takes me a year to save up for the deductible?

Thanks for your question. In most cases, you can file a claim for up to two years after the loss.

What do I do if a person hit me from the back and now is claiming to their insurance that I hit them?

Sorry to hear about your situation. From what I can gather, it appears that she hit the rear of your car while you were waiting at the gate of your apartment complex.

Should I file a claim if I got hit and am not at fault but settled for an amount less than I actually need?

Hello, My advice would be to contact your insurance company. They can begin negotiations and work on your behalf to get your vehicle back to its pre-accident state.

Is the penalty for an insurance claim equal no matter what the offense was?

Unfortunately, it's not that simple and there are many reasons to file a claim not necessarily as a result of reckless driving or other risky driving habits. Insurance companies do not look at the reason for the accident, they look at whose company paid the claim and what it cost them.

Can I be reimbursed for a rear-end collision damage after 3 years?

Since you filed a claim, you should still be compensated for the damages. I would get in contact with the other party's insurance as soon as possible.

If I backed into another person's car (which was sitting in their driveway), should I file a claim if repairs are estimated to be $2,500?

Hello, Since there is no damage to your vehicle, you would not need to file a claim. However, the person that you hit has the option to file a claim.
