Must I list my children on my policy if they have a learners permit or a drivers license in the state of New York?

Thank you for the question. In short, you will run into issues with your insurance company if you are not listing all household members.

When do I need to add my child with a learners permit to car insurance

You should add your daughter and the new car to your policy if she'll eventually be driving it once she gets her license. This will prevent the insurance company from having any reason to deny a claim in the event of an accident. Should I file a claim if I only have a learners permit?

Unfortunately, I'm not an insurance adjuster which means I cannot tell you how much it will cost to repair the damage. However, if you do not want to have a claim filed for the accident, you can offer to pay for the damages out of pocket.

Will my insurance company cover someone not on my policy?

Unfortunately, this is not a straight-forward answer. While there are a lot of factors that determine whether or not your insurance company will pay for the damages, the number one thing to consider is if your policy has permissive use.

Do I have to add my son with a permit to our insurance

I would recommend speaking with your insurance company regarding their specific rules. But, given him using the vehicles often, I would imagine they will require him to be an added driver to the policy.

My uninsured 15-year-old daughter got into an accident.

Given her young age, filing a claim will likely result in a huge increase in your premium because your insurer will probably require that she be added as a driver to your policy with an at-fault accident on her record. If you can afford to pay for the damage out of pocket, I would recommend doing that.

How will my insurance handle a claim where I backed my boat into another truck at the dock?

The simple is, yes, you will have to file 2 claims. The damage to your boat would have to be claimed on your boat insurance policy. The liability from the vehicle you were driving is actually what will pay out for the other party's damage, and not the boat insurance liability, since the boat was out of the water at the time of the accident.
