Question

Is my teenager covered to drive my vehicle if he is not listed on my policy?

He has his license and drives my vehicle but I don't want my rates to skyrocket by adding him as a driver. Since I already insure the vehicle, will he be covered to drive?

If your son is driving your vehicle on a regular basis then he absolutely needs to be covered as a driver. Avoiding a premium increase by not listing people who drive your vehicle regularly is fraudulent and could result in some extremely negative outcomes especially if that person is involved in an accident behind the wheel of your car; namely, a denied claim and a huge repair bill. If you feel that your rate is too expensive when he is added then you can always shop around. We recommend people shop around, anyway, every six months to make sure they are getting the best deal on their policy.
