My uninsured 15-year-old daughter got into an accident.

My daughter, who is 15, only has a learners permit and isn’t on my insurance policy, ran our car into the garage. The estimates for the garage is $2,600 and then $1,600 for the car. I have a $500 deductible. Should we file a claim?

Given her young age, filing a claim will likely result in a huge increase in your premium because your insurer will probably require that she be added as a driver to your policy with an at-fault accident on her record. If you can afford to pay for the damage out of pocket, I would recommend doing that. If not, then filing a claim is your only option.
