Question
Should I have uninsured motorist coverage for all of my vehicles?
I was told that uninsured motorist coverage follows me even when I'm in another car. If this is the case, do need to put this coverage on all my cars? It was also my understanding that it would follow me if I rented or borrowed any other vehicle with basically no exceptions. Is this true?
Answer
Uninsured motorist bodily injury coverage will follow you for injuries you sustain from an uninsured driver. However, uninsured motorist property damage will not cover vehicles that are not on your policy. If you want to ensure that your vehicles are covered, you will need to add uninsured motorist property damage which applies to the vehicles on your policy. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
