Question

What does Personal Injury Protection really mean?

I was in an accident with someone who had the same insurance company. I've already settled and am just looking for a way to recover more of what I feel they really owe me.

Medical payments will pay for your injuries no matter who is at fault in the accident and can pay for the injuries of the other passengers in your car as well. Typically, you will only be paid for the cost of the injuries within the limits of the other person's liability limits. For example, your injuries total $30,000 but the other driver's limits are $25,000. You would only receive $25,000 for your injuries. Your options to recover the remaining amount for your injuries are to use your medical payment and or PIP coverage or take legal action.
