Will my car insurance cover damage to a tree?

I was driving and my car slid off the road into a tree. The owner of the property says that it was an expensive tree and wants it replaced. Will my insurance cover that?

The liability portion of your policy is intended to cover damage that you cause to someone else. This would include fixed objects like shrubs, bushes, and trees in someone's yard. Contact your insurance company about the accident and they should take care of the damage that you caused.
