Will a comprehensive claim on my motorcycle affect my car insurance rates?
I dropped my newer motorcycle outside my home. This did happen while riding the motorcycle and although the damage was only cosmetic, it will still cost a lot of money to fix. Will a motorcycle claim affect my car insurance rates? Will it be better off to sell it as-is or risk repairing it with used body parts?
Your comprehensive claim will show up on your reports for auto insurance even if it was done for a motorcycle. The good news is if this is your first comp claim, it's considered not-at-fault, and most companies will not adjust your rates. Having more than one claim is a different story, but if it is your first, I'd talk it over with your company and file a claim in most cases.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
