Question

Will my insurance cover damage to someone else's vehicle

I borrowed his pickup. His tire had a bubble on it so I changed the tire out for the spare which looked good to me. I was driving and the tire blew out and tore up the fender. Will my insurance cover the damage since I was driving and I changed the tire out? He only has liability and I feel terrible about this. I have full coverage insurance.

I'm sorry to hear that happened. I would feel awful as well. Typically when an you borrow a vehicle from someone, collision and comprehensive coverage do not typically apply to a borrowed vehicle. The only way to know for sure is to contact your insurance agent to find out what would be covered under your specific policy. Keep in mind, if they will cover the damage, you want to weigh the cost of the damage versus your deductible. It may be better to just pay out of pocket for the damages. A claim will negatively effect your insurance rates for up to 5 years. Good luck.
