Question

Will my insurance policy cover mechanical breakdown?

I paid my car insurance for more than 36 months and did not have any accidents during these years. Now my vehicle is broken down and undriveable. Can I file a claim to have them fix it? Or can I cancel my policy and get refunded?

Your insurance policy isn't a warranty so it's not likely to cover normal wear and tear or breakdowns. You can always cancel the policy if you don't plan to get another vehicle for a while, but you will lose your prior insurance discount so I wouldn't recommend it if you will be getting a new vehicle in the near future. If you have already paid your policy in full or for the month and cancel then you should be eligible for a pro-rated refund.
