Will there be a cost to remove a deceased from a car insurance policy?
The car is in my name. My husband died this year.
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. As far as your insurance goes, you should contact your agency and have them remove the driver. In most cases, this will not cost you anything. If it does, you may want to consider moving companies.
Unfortunately, the average rate for a widow/widower is slightly higher than the average driver. However, you should still see some savings as there are fewer drivers on your policy. Thank you for your question and good luck going forward.
